Wind Mitigation Inspections are provided for homeowners to help reduce homeowner insurance premiums for homes that meet certain high wind protection criteria. Wind Mitigation Inspections are based on observation of installed house features including an assessment of the roof covering type, roof geometry, roof deck attachments, secondary water resistance barriers, and exterior opening protection where readily accessible and visible and on building construction data when made available to the inspector. Wind Mitigation Inspections are performed by a licensed Inspector meeting Florida Wind Mitigation Training and Certification requirements.  A Wind Mitigation Report will be generated on a form and in a format as required by the state of Florida.  While a Wind Mitigation Inspection may be performed in conjunction with a home inspection, a Wind Mitigation Inspection is not a building code inspection, home inspection, or other inspection service.
