Colin Ferguson grew up on beautiful Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada where he was enrolled in and graduated from Riverview Rural High Schools bilingual program in 1997. He then attended Cape Breton University graduating in 2001 with a degree in Civil Engineering Technology. After his graduation from Cape Bretton University, Colin was recruited by an engineering consulting firm in Saco Maine and he subsequently relocated to southern Maine. For the next 11 years, Colin was responsible for construction inspection and materials testing throughout northern New England and the Midwest – from highways and box stores to military installations.  Colin has held multiple certifications in concrete, soils, asphalt and masonry construction both for work in the field and in the lab. During the summer of 2012, HouseMaster owner Daryl Justham interrupted Colin’s quiet life as a stay at home father to be a home inspector for HouseMaster.  Since that day, Colin has brought his decade of industrial inspection experience to the field of home inspection and has helped HouseMaster clients get the best value possible from their inspection experience.  Additionally, his background in soil mechanics lends Colin a unique perspective when it comes to evaluating septic systems. Colin currently lives in Merrimack, NH with his wife and two young daughters, where they enjoy family walks with their dog and excursions to the local swimming hole which is usually followed by a trip for frozen yogurt.
