Can social distancing and home inspections co-exist? Absolutely! Where local authority permits, HouseMaster Home Inspections serving Northern California is up and running, and we're taking recommended precautions to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
We have put in place heightened hygiene protocols for our inspectors as directed by the CDC including physical distancing and proper handwashing and sanitizing before, during and after each inspection; gloves, shoe covers and masks during inspections; and a strict policy that directs inspectors to stay home if they feel sick or if they have been in recent contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
As you know, we all have a role to play in preventing the spread of the virus. We have enacted the additional protocols below for our property inspections, which will remain in place through at least April 30, 2020.
- Properties must be vacant with no one living there.
- Payment and signature are due the day before the inspection. Online payment and electronic signature options are available.
- No one else may attend the inspection, including buyers, home owners, agents, other inspectors, or contractors. The goal is to eliminate all face-to-face interactions with anyone before, during, or after the inspection.
Our comprehensive property inspections are delivered in PDF format via the HouseMaster Cloud. As always, our inspectors are available by phone to discuss reports as needed after the inspection.
This is a challenging time for all of us. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, and we value the opportunity to perform your home inspection! If you have any questions about scheduling an inspection, call 1-800-995-4063.
